Allison "Sonnie" Boyson
A Bit About Me
I've been a martial arts coach, trained pole coaches, performed at music festivals, been a fairy at Renaissance festivals, sung in a rock cover band, co-started and run 2 successful service focused small businesses, and have worked as several flavors of engineer amongst other adventures. I can solve complex problems in ways others don't think of, yet often struggle with starting projects. I can often see the bigger complex picture that no one wants to bother with, but don't always remember someone's name.

Just like all of us, my brain has it's own magical weird ways of working :) And I find that it's been quite useful in guiding others and creating art, and I've been told on many occasions my perspective and approach has been the missing key for helping others succeed.

I have always loved watching my creations come to life, alongside working with others to help their growth and solve wide ranges of issues. Which leads me to this site, and why you're reading this. I have moved into making a living doing these things - this way I can have the time to continue helping others, creating, and learning new and better ways to do so.
When it comes to educating others, I prioritize meeting people where they are. Whether it’s offering difficulty variations in movement workshops, or doing an in-depth review of your business from culture to bottom line before offering guidance. Every student, class, business, and community are unique and I believe that if that is recognized and accounted for, the benefit is so much greater.

As a performer, having a background in ballet through martial arts I work to bring a wide variety of movement styles to my art. I create and adjust costumes, can do my own makeup and body paint, work with other artists to create duo, trio, up to full productions, and can quickly learn new skills. I own and have access to a large selection of equipment (rigs, aerial apparatuses, stage apparatus e.g. lollipop, rigging gear) as well as additional unique options.
